You can tint your car, add film to your home or office, or have a mobile installer come to you. SolaroTint does all three. Our 3M certified installers work from our shop in nearby Costa Mesa. This guide covers each option. It explains which film to pick and how to stay within California tint rules.
Window Tint Huntington Beach Drivers and Homeowners Ask About
Huntington Beach gets a lot of sun. Think of parking lots along PCH, a day at the pier, or a west-facing living room in the late afternoon. Window film helps in a few simple ways:
- UV protection. Window film blocks most UV rays. That protects your skin and slows fading on seats, dashboards, floors and furniture.
- Less glare. Sun off the road, the sand and the ocean is easier on the eyes.
- More comfort. Cabins and rooms stay cooler and more pleasant.
- Privacy. Darker shades on rear car windows and some home films make it harder to see inside.
Film goes on the inside of the glass. That keeps it away from salt air, rain and car washes.
Car Tint Huntington Beach: Picking Your Film
Carbon, ceramic and nano-ceramic
We offer three main types of car window film:
- Carbon film. A solid, non-metal option with a clean matte look. It holds its color well.
- Ceramic film. It uses ceramic particles to reject heat without metal, so it does not interfere with phone, GPS or radio signals.
- Nano-ceramic film. Our top tier, for drivers who want the most comfort and clear views.
Not sure which one fits? Our ceramic window tint page explains the differences in more detail. You can also just ask when you book.
Tesla and EV tint
Many Teslas and other EVs have big glass roofs and large rear glass. Tinting that glass can make the cabin much more comfortable on sunny days. Ceramic film has no metal, so it will not get in the way of the car's connectivity. See our Tesla window tint page to learn more.
Staying legal in California
This is general information, not legal advice:
- Windshield: non-reflective tint on the top 4 inches only.
- Front side windows: glass plus film must let in at least 70% of light. A clear film of at least 88% is allowed if you keep a certificate from the installer or maker in the car.
- Rear side windows and back glass: any darkness, as long as the car has side mirrors on both sides.
- No mirror-like film: reflective, mirrored tint is not allowed.
If you do get a tint ticket in California, it is usually a correctable fix-it ticket. We will help you choose a shade that fits your goals and the rules.

Mobile Tinting: We Come to You
Mobile tinting brings our installers to your home or workplace in Huntington Beach. It works well if you have a busy schedule or more than one car. Home and office film is always done on site.
Here is how it works:
- Book online or call us.
- Tell us your vehicle or the windows you want done, the film you are interested in, and your address.
- We confirm a time that works for you.
- For car tint, have a garage or shaded spot ready if you can. It keeps wind and dust away from fresh film.
- Our installer arrives, cleans and preps the glass, and installs the film.
We also cover nearby cities like Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, Santa Ana and Tustin.
Other Services for Huntington Beach Customers
Tint is not the only thing we do. We also offer:
- Tint removal. Old film that is purple, peeling or bubbling can be taken off before new film goes on.
- Paint protection film (PPF). A clear film that helps guard paint against chips and scratches.
- Vinyl wraps. Change your car's color or finish without new paint.
- Ceramic coating. A glossy protective layer that makes washing easier.
Questions to Ask Before You Book
A few quick questions will help you get the right result:
- Is this for a car, a home or a business?
- Do you care most about comfort, privacy, glare or looks?
- Do you want the work done at the shop or with mobile service?
- For cars, do your front windows need to stay within the 70% rule?
- Is there old tint that needs to come off first?
Bring your answers when you reach out, and we will suggest a film that fits.
